Dream Fitnessentials

Yesterday, I shared with you my fitnessentials…aka the things that I own.. and use daily.. that help to keep me motivated to continue living a healthy, happy life.

I loved reading what your fitnessentials were!  I think we can all agree that there are a number of things that maybe not be essential to staying fit, happy, and healthy through exercise, but are definitely things we dream of owning someday (hopefully soon!)

So, here are my top 5 Dream Fitnessentials

1. Garmin Forerunner

Now that I am starting to train for races and am into going on long runs outdoors, I really want one of these.  They are a great piece of equipment to slap on your wrist because it tracks your run, mileage, pace per mile, etc.  I think it would help me a lot when I am trying to do tempo runs – and am having a difficult time controlling my pace.  So many runner-bloggies have one of these…so it is definitely near the top of my wish-list. Today, it just so happen that I was able to read Megan’s review of this bad boy.. which convinced me even more… that I.NEED.ONE.NOW!

2. TRX Suspension System

Have you ever used one of these babies? Hot tamales.. it is a full body workout in a tiny package!  The first time I used one of these was during group circuit training. I’ve done plenty of leg, arm, ab, chest and back exercises with this piece of equipment.  I don’t get to use it much anymore since I now live over an hour away from my favorite trainer ever.  A couple of weeks ago.. I saw one in my gym and my face lit up.  Then I saw the girl it belonged to take it down and put it in her bad.  Enter: heartbreak.  Bottom line is – find somewhere that has one of these a try it out!  Then try and steal it and mail it to me! Kidding. Kind of.

3. Bosu Balance Trainer

Yet another wonderful piece of fitness equipment that can truly train so many aspects of your body.  Yes, these are available at practically every gym.. but these are my dreams. And I dream that I have one right in my living room..with my measly home gym.. consisting of a jump rope, yoga mat, and a set of 6lb dumbbells.   I think I am in need of a home-fitness upgrade!

4. Lululemon Fitness Wardrobe Overhaul

Yes please!  Don’t get me wrong, I love a bargain and I search high and low for cost efficient fitness clothes.  But, I have heard SUCH positive things about the Lululemon line of clothes.. and have never worn a piece of their ever-so-lovely clothing.  Right now, it is definitely not something I can afford.  I will be sticking to Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and the newest edition to my fitness apparel.. Forever 21.

5. Interval Timer

Okay, okay.. so this may not necessarily be out of my price range, but I don’t own one.  Between different running intervals, circuit training and other various fitness activities, an interval timer would make my life a heck of a lot easier.  It is not an easy task to a. try and count to 60 in your head… or b. continuously look at your Polar F7 .. to figure out when the minute of BALLS TO THE WALL… INTENSE WORK.. has come to an end.  So yes please to this as well! 🙂

*****

Well lovelies.. that wraps out my top 5.  A girl can dream.. can’t she!  Don’t get me wrong.. if I had all of these things, I am sure there would still be more things I would want.  But I am not the splurge kind of girl… and I am doing just fine with what I’ve got right now!

What are your dream fitnessentials?

  1. I want some Lululemon too! It sounds so NICE. MY splurges have been on North Face capris & sports bras, which I love though.

I got my Garmin 205 on Amazon during Black Friday for 88$. The only real difference between the 205 and 305 is the HRM, I think. The 205 doesn’t have one, but I didn’t really want it. I have seen 305 listed on Walmart.com for 99$ before too.

  2. a taste of health with balance

definitely the bosu!! i want that thing so bad. and swap out my workout clothes for lulu… i have a few things from them but the outlet isn’t far from me so i get them way cheaper..even then they’re still expensive!

  3. indecisiveathlete

I would love a lululemon wradrobe if only I wasn’t a broke college kid (hello tempo shorts and tshirts) Also the garmin I would LOVE to have one so I can just run anywhere and know how far (like on trails)

    • Seriously.. a garmin is so amazing. I am getting closer to taking the plunge and buying one I think! Please.. not spending money on fitness clothes is not an issue that only college kids face! I am in the same boat. I can’t fathom spending such a large amount of money on something I will be sweating in!

  4. Wardrobe overhaul all the way!!! It’s safe to say I’d be happier with a fitness clothing shopping spree than any other type of spree 🙂

As a new-ish runner I can say the Garmin has changed.my.life. It’s an AWESOME motivator and worth every penny. Oh and sync it with DailyMile for an extremely fantastic snapshot of your training 🙂

    • Seriously! I love getting new fitness clothes! I could go for a complete wardrobe overhaul though.. all aspects! I always used to want to be on that show “What Not to Wear” I would debate dressing in only sweat pants so someone would nominate me…. but then decided against it since I figured my chances would be pretty slim of actually getting on the show!

  5. Lululemon and the suspension system would be rockin!! I would also add an elliptical and treadmill or home workouts 🙂

  6. Lululemon is the best! I know their stuff is pricey, but I live in my workout clothes, so its worth it!!!!!

I would love a elliptical one day in my house!

  7. I would love a Garmin Forerunner too! Now that the weather is nicer and I am running more outside, I would love to be able to track my distance and speed more easily. I use the bosu ball at my gym all the time. I take my routine to the next level. My gym also just go the TRX system (but its an extra fee to us it 😦 ) I signed up for a trial last week and loved it! I’m debating on forking over the cash for the TRX classes.

  8. I def want a garmin now that I’ve heard so many people in the blog world rave about them. I love lululemon gear. It’s so comfy, supportive, and cute! As a grad student on a tight budget, I’m always scouring the racks for lululemon on sale. And to be honest I’ve found some amazing deals!

    • I am definitely going to have to go through the racks at lulu.. i actually just realized there is a store in the town next to me. Figured it would be a waste of time to go there since I wouldn’t be able to afford anything.. but you may have just changed my mind!

  9. Pretty sure you read my mind on these.

  10. I have a garmin and I love it. Running with out it is miserable. I don’t really care about designer work out clothes. I’ve heard LuLu has great stuff, but $80 for a shirt, gotta be kiddin’ me. Many of my shirts are race shirts or off the clearance rack at Target. My Hubs would murder me if I spent that kind of money on clothes that are just going to get sweaty and gross.

The one thing that I really, really, really want is a gym membership. It’s not in the budget right now, but hopefully in the coming months I’ll be able to work something out.

    • Totally agree about spending big bucks on fitness apparel. I’m only dreaming.. but I don’t think it is something I’d ever follow through on. I love some of the styles..but in all reality.. don’t need them. Reality Check.

I hope you are able to get your membership – but it seems as if you are doing a fab job of keeping in shape without it! Thats just awesome that you are such a self-motivator!

  11. I really want an elliptical. I know it sounds a little BIG, but I talked to my parents, and they agree. 🙂 So I hope to be getting one of those. ONe of my dream fitness essentials is a Garmin! 😀
