Yeah. I didn’t have to do the dunk tank!
The word on the street.. was wrong! It was actually a joke. I take everything pretty seriously though! Even though I was NOT dunked.. it was a ton of fun! However.. field days have changed GREATLY since I was in school (and I am sure many of will agree with me…)
I got up nice and early today and did a 3.5 mile run.. first fueling myself with these..
Had a good 30 min run
Felt great.. nice, hot and sweaty!
And refueled with some overnight oats!
Then.. it was time to get ready for the Picnic. Best part about field days.. is that I get to go to work looking like this!
As for the rest of the day.. well, the pictures tell it all!!

Definitely a great day. No one ran away. We had a few upset tummys.. but nothing some water and the shade of a tree couldn’t fix!!
I am currently home with the fam – and want to value my time with them. I’ve had a great time with them so far.. and will recap on that tomorrow!

Aw looks like a BLAST! I used to love field days! We had a bunch of games and yummy foods!
I don’t remember what we ate when I was young.. just that there was a lot of relay type races and kickball!

Wow! Field day is a lot different then when I was in school. When we had field day the whole school didn’t go. Several kids from each grade were selected and we were bused to a different school and did various events. I can’t remember what all we did. I remember running around the track doing relays and stuff like that.

Oh wow. that is super interesting that you were bussed to other schools and only some kids participated! Our whole school participated and we did relays and stff on the fields out behind our school!
So much fun!! I LOVED field day back in elementary school! We’d look forward to them for weeks. 🙂

Aww looks like you had such a fun day!! I can’t remember the last time I did anything like that, in fact I don’t think I ever have except for birthday parties – very jealous! Our ‘field day’ at elementary school was just a sports day where we did different races and stuff but it wasn’t all that fun compared to that kind of field day!
That is what mine was like, too! I feel like everything is bigger.. more extreme now! From birthdays… to field days.. everything!

Oh my gosh I LOVED field day as a kid but they definitely weren’t this great!! If I recall correctly we just went out back to our field behind our school and had different stations set up out there. Haha – pretty lame compared to the one for your kids!!

The fire truck filled it up.. but where it came from, I am not sure. It could have been from a pond.. or even the long island sound which is less then a mile down the road.
