Silly Sunday

What a silly, silly Sunday it has been so far.  First, let me back up and show you the scrumptious pizza that I munch on last night.  It was goo-ood.

Normally, I will roll out the entire dough and put it on a pan. The use Justin’s toppings on about 3/4 of the pizza – and top the other 1/4 to my liking.

Last night, I decided to dare to be different though. Instead, I took a portion of the dough and rolled it out into my own mini pizza – and gave the rest to Justin.

I topped it with some sauce, a lil bit of shredded mozzarella cheese, and some frozen spinach.

Ended up with deliciousness. A nice thin crust cooked to perfected…with a lovely lil salad on the side!

Now – let’s get on to the Sunday silliness. You know what, it isn’t silliness.

It is ABSURDITY.

If you remember, I was exhausted yesterday. Like whoa.

At about 5:30 this morning…I was awoken from my sleep but what I thought was a sound coming from our little fan on the floor. It isn’t that old, so I was upset that it was already making noise. I thought about getting up to turn it off, but was comfy. Awake, but comfy.

Justin gets up. In my head, I think yes, he is going to make the noise stop. Wrong.  But suddenly the noise becomes louder. And I hear the door to the condo close.  When he come back in I ask him what is going on.

Oh ya know.. an old-school bell alarm is going off.   It is even louder out in the hallway. I drag myself out of bed.. because I know we are at the point of no return. There is no fire..no trucks. So it is some sort of malfunction.

We call the management group… and they say they don’t really know what to do..SERIOUSLY!?

Extra early start to this Sunday morning.

This means an arrival at the grocery store at like 7:15 am. (DID YOU KNOW THAT ALL OF THE SHELVES ARE NOT STOCKED WHEN A GROCERY STORE OPENS?) More absurdity.  We still completed our shop.  Here is a looksy at what we got:

I am actually quite impressed with today’s purchases. We made out really good. We got a lot of stuff on sale. We actually saved $25 off of our total bill (sales.. and 2 coupons).  And..Justin is pretty particular about toilet paper.. so we always get the super soft more expensive jazz.  Our total this week.. was 115$.  Lovely if you ask me.

The alarm was still going off when we returned.. but finally was turned off at around 9:30.  By 9:30 this morning.. these are the things I had checked off my to-do list.

And by 10:00 – I have BLOG POST checked off of my list too. How about them apples?!

I am quite the productive girl today!

Now, I am headed boot camp – fingers crossed that it is not cancelled today!

Have a lovely Sunday, friends! 🙂

  1. Haha, that’s how I make pizza too. 1/4 veggies for me, 3/4s of the pie meat lovers for him!

  2. Your pizza looks good! I use to get up and go food shopping right when it opens on Sundays at 7. It was so much better. It was me, a couple mothers with children clearly have been up since five, and a few old guys. No 1/2 hour wait at the deli for my fiances ham! I wish I could still get up and food shop that early!

    • Yes! I love going when it is not crowded. Even when there are no alarms, we are usually at the store by 8:30. We can put our order in at the deli on a computer when we enter.. and then they make an announcement when it is ready. Huge help.

  3. I love early, productive days like you’re having….although waking up to that alarm isn’t so fab on a Sunday! You’ve got so much finished today, you might even have time for a little siesta!!

  4. I like the difference between your and Justin’s groceries. You have tons of healthy stuff while he has Apple Jacks, fries, and Dipsy Doodles. 😛 Not saying he doesn’t know how to eat healthy (I’m sure you share meals more than anything)..but it’s cute nonetheless!

    • Hahah. It is very comical. We do eat most meals together though.. so he eats healthy for dinner at least! His food habits have changed dramatically since we moved in together though.. like no more fast food for one thing. He works hard to be as healthy as a “growing” boy can. haha

  5. I love that you guys have separate groceries like I do with my boys!

Gotta love the apple jacks Justin got, those are so good!

I hope the rest of your Sunday is relaxing, nothing like waking up at the crack of dawn to a fire alarm : p

  6. Wow you really got a lot done! That’s one reason I love waking up early is by noon you feel super accomplished!

I was the opposite; I slept in until 11:30 today! Very unusual for me. Now it’s 3:30 and I’m wondering where in the world my day went!

  7. that pizza looks delicious! at least you had a productive sunday morning! now you can spend the rest of the day relaxing

  8. love getting stuff done so early in the day!

  9. PS- I’m no longer at atasteofhealthwithbalance, new domain!

  10. I always love seeing blogger’s groceries (I’m nosy like that!). I love buying frozen berries for my smoothies – cheaper than fresh!

  11. Wow what a silly Sunday and an early start to your day! At least you got LOTS done 🙂 your pictures look so vibrant and perfect!

  12. Ha! That sucks, but at least you got a lot done!! I’m impressed with your groceries as well, and maybe even a tad jealous! I HATTTEEEE the grocery store, so we’re running low on groceries..

  13. Haha, I love the picture of Justin’s food… I haven’t had Apple Jacks in so long. That actually sounds really good right now!

  14. apple jacks – what a blast from the past! my mom used to buy me those individual boxes of cereal that you could pour the milk in & eat straight out of the box & i remember apple jacks were one of my favs! it’s so weird to think about now ’cause my tastes have changed so much!
i love shopping when the stores are empty! i hate it when you get weird people crowding your space in the aisles!

  15. it feels good to get a lot done in the a.m., eh???

I like the way you and your hubby shop<—-that is how we do it as well. Most of the fresh stuff for me, some boxed stuff for him. haha 🙂

  16. Wow you stocked up on some major goodies, I love it! And that pizza looks delicious 🙂

  17. that does sound silly, but in a GOOD way. Nice score on the groceries too!

  18. Wow over achiever. I had just gotten out of bed by 9:30 😉

Normally I get up around 7:30, but I was exhausted from my Friday night & Saturday so sleeping till 9 was awesomesauce! I’ve been to the grocery store @ 7:15am once; it was pretty pleasant. I was in and out in 20 minutes, that is a miracle w/ all the Snowbirds around here.. (Thank goodness they are headed back north!!)

    • Yesterday was definitely a day where I wish I could stay in bed. I have been SO tired lately. And even today…I took a personal day from work. And I was up at 7. But.. that is sleeping in for me.

Sadly.. some of your snow birds.. are from my hometown. We have an elderly community .. and they allll go to Florida for the winter. And.. now they are reappearing and causing danger on roads everywhere!

  19. Today was VERY productive for me too! Don’t you love when things go you way? Loving the grocery pictures. I hope you enjoyed your boot camp 🙂
